HEY HAKONE

I'm Wearing: ADA tee, Dr Denim jeans, ASOS jacket with customised pockets, Vintage Mickey tee and Converse

Day 10: The morning started with a half asleep train ride to Hakone, after a few hours we finally arrived at Gora station. (Long story short if you ever go to Hakone you can buy a ‘Hakone free pass’ that allows you to use the trains, cable cars, pirate ship and ropeways around the area)
After spending the last week in busy Tokyo there was something about arriving in Hakone that was really special. The smell of fresh air in the mountains was very much needed.
After appreciating the fresh air we hopped on the Ropeway and saw Mt Fuji for only a few minutes before the clouds covered the mountain again.
We arrived at the first stop of the day Owakudani, it's a volcanic valley with active sulphur vents and hot springs!  The local speciality there is kuro-tamago (black eggs) hard boiled in the hot springs. Eating one supposedly increases your life by seven years. This was my second visit there and I still didn’t want to eat an egg. Lets just say the smell of Sulphur and eggs doesn’t make you very hungry.

After that we spent the rest of the day exploring around Hakone on Pirate ship Ferry’s and more Ropeways. We ate a delicious dinner and enjoyed the rest of the night at our beautiful hotel with a private bath!

Day 11: Our last day in Japan started with a very traditional Japanese breakfast. I opted for a bowl of rice because I'm just not quite ready for raw fish so early in the morning. We packed up our bags one last time and travelled to Hakone Open Air Musesum which is exactly what you would think. A gallery but outside! with beautiful 360 degree views of mountains and lots of art. I had been here once before and I knew I had to show my family this place it is simply amazing. 100% recommend if you like art and fresh air at the same time. We spent our last day in Japan exploring the museum, wishing we weren't leaving and eating pizza.

This is the final travel diary of this year's trip to Japan. Thank you for being so fabulous Japan I will see you again soon!

HEY TOKYO - PART TWO

I'm wearing: Dr Denim jeans, ASOS denim jacket, ADA tee and Converse

The final part of my Tokyo travels -

Day 6: The day started with exploring Ginza’s little streets of markets and losing myself in yet another 100 yen store. After buying lots of junk we headed to Uneo park. The coolest thing about Uneo park on the weekends is all the groups of people having picnics and all drinking in public which is something Australia doesn't like us doing. This was also the best place for dog watching if you're into seeing the worlds cutest dogs in fabulous outfits.
That afternoon we explored Tokyo CBD a little bit then had a Delish dinner back in Shinjuku and my sis and I spent far too long in the Purikura’s (Japanese photo booths).

Day 7: Our day started with me and my sis on a solo mission to shop our little hearts out in Shibuya. We strolled across the biggest crossing in the world and grabbed coffee and admired the world go by in the infamous Starbucks that overlooks the crossing. After fuelling up we spent the next few hours going from shop to shop until we were shopped out. That night we went to the Robot restaurant in the red light district of Shinjuku! Every inch of the place was covered in neon lights. It was honestly the most confusing, amazing, hilarious show I've ever seen. I loved it!

Day 8: We started our day shopping in Shinjuku then decided to check out the museum of art…I was so tired at the gallery I kept taking mini upright naps instead of admiring the art. After I had some what refuelled we decided to hit Harajuku again since I just hadn't had a big enough dose. I successfully spent the rest of my money in Harajuku and left a happy happy gal.

Day 9: Our last day in Tokyo was spent exploring Shinjuku some more, Looking at Tokyo from above in an observatory tower, A river cruise and too much fun in a karaoke booth.

HEY HARAJUKU

Day 5: Harajuku Adventures!

Every time I stand at the entrance of Takeshita street (the place to get your Harajuku gurl getup) I get overwhelming feels of happiness. Harajuku is in my top 3 favourite places in the world it’s so flippin’ fun and fabulous.  My sis and I started from the top of the street and checked out every shop that tickled our fancy until we got to the end. One thing I am loving in Japan right now is the overwhelming amounts of rad used clothes. I found that a lot of shops had designated racks with used clothing for fab prices. The used clothing was never shit pieces either everything was always really cool. I was also going crazy for Monki and WEGO when I was over there… every time I saw either of the stores I had to check it out!

After shopping my little heart out for the day we headed back to Shinjuku had a nice dinner n dranks and the rest isn’t really worth writing about.
